On the List - Needlepoint Slippers

Tintin's skiers have got me on the trail. These are pretty great but the price tag and lack of school/regiment affiliation are prohibitive. If I could find a pair in cardinal and gold around $100 clams I would be set. SC kids thought I belonged in an institution when I used to show up to football games in a button down and school repp tie. Can you imagine how they'd respond to these?

I was just searching for needlepoint slippers the other day. Not many things could be found, but I did find this place http://www.bypaige.com/store/store.php?crn=206. Seems you can have a pair special ordered.

I asked Cathy Ann if she would make you a pair... she doesn't think it's in her level of needlepointing though. Boo hiss! I think she could do it. Just needs the shape and your boat size.

I don't get the affinity for school colors, please explain if you would. If it helps, I'm a Yalie and an Andover man - so it's not for lack of affiliations.

Those are awesome. Who doesn't want a pair of needlepoint slippers? Cost is always a factor unfortunately, the ones I want with pirate ships on the toe will have to wait until I can afford bespoke because I've never seen any.

memphis - I saw that too although its unclear to me if they make men's sizes or only women's.

Xtina - If she could that would go down as all time best gift. keep at bee Bee Grace, I'm really enjoying it.

Anon - Wow, Andover and Yale....there aren't many men who have been where you have and you probably worked hard to get there. In my book that is something to be proud of. Why not tastefully affiliate? I'm not talking about the whole graphic tee/hat thing because I think it looks sloppy & immature. I usually opt for something more traditional like repp and club ties, rugbys (see a couple posts below), and in this case needlepoint slippers (which may be a stretch) in my alma mater's colors. Hope that helps.

David - check out Memphis' comment above. ByPaige may be able to set you up.

They do men's sizes, but it's by request so you just have to contact them.

Mrs. Blandings seems to have persuaded one maker to offer discounts:

(I gather from a previous, now vanished post that it's worth making sure the shoe fits properly.)
