On Oct. 28th 2008 I lost my father, my hero, my best friend.
As any consistent reader of this weblog could tell, he has had a tremendous impact on me. My father excelled in all aspects of his well-lived life. He was first and foremost a dedicated and fiercely loyal family man as well as a brilliant doctor, a thoughtful intellectual, a lucid writer, a loquacious orator....the list could go on and on.
Dad has inspired me in every part of my life and looking at some of these old photos will hopefully do the same for anyone who sees them.
We will always love you Pop.

My condolences to you and your family. Your father was certainly an accomplished man and left a fine legacy, of which you have much to be proud.
I lost track of your blog and was saddened to see this when I found you again. We owe our fathers (and grandfathers) so much. Thank you for the great pictures of him as well as your stories of his life.
Tucker & tintin - Somehow I missed both of you responses. Thank you both for your kind words about my father.
This is really moving, AC. I lost my mother early in my life (10) but I was quickly reminded of my relationship with my Father, who I didn't have the greatest rapport with but we're still pretty cool. As long as you have the memories to live with and recollect everyday, that's all you (and your father, I bet) can ask for.
